Writers Workshop at Calabasas

Welcome to the world of student writing at Calabasas!

This school year, our entire learning community has embarked on a year-long focus on improving and enhancing student writing.We are utilizing a Writers Workshop Model with support from Step Up to Writing.

Below are some samples of a recent writing project in which students in grades K-6th wrote letters to President Obama.

    Calabasas Elementary is a school that bases decisions on students’ needs. We believe that every individual deserves dignity and respect in our school community.   • Garden/Environmental Education Project w/Doug Cronyn

    We are fortunate to have teaching scientist/artist Doug Cronyn lead our students in staff over the past months on an exciting learning journey through gardening, conservation, sustainability and environmental education. Doug has used only minor funds to build up Calabasas garden plot, planter boxes and green house to a fully functioning garden and learning environment. Click on the link below to see and learn more!
