Hello all! Welcome to the world of Second Grade,

Room 4!

My name is Jan Moran and I teach Second Grade at Calabasas Elementary. My husband Terry and I have lived in Aptos for the past 5 years. We moved here from Chico, California. Before that we lived in the Central Valley in a town called Exeter, where we raised our four children Conor, Brigid, Deirdre and Brendan. We planted and grew a 5 acre grove of olives there. I worked in their classrooms as they attended schools in the Central Valley. I became a teacher because I love working with children and reading. My second grade class is very exciting! They are improving in reading, writing and math every day. Second Grade is exciting! They love to recite poetry and sing songs. This is one of the most important times in a childs life. It can often set the tone for their academic success.
