Dash to the finish….
It is time to gear up and get ready for the big push to the finish line. The school year will be over before we know it. It is time for students to decide to rise to the occasion and work hard for the remainder of the school year. In the classroom, there will be lots of review of concepts and practice to ready students for the California State Standards Test.
If your child does not have basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division mastered he/she must practice each and every night. To apply the basic operations to more complex problems students must feel confident and competent so that their energy is spent problem solving and not being frustrated.
I am hopeful that my students will achieve proficiency on all the tests later this year but I know they must dedicate themselves to working harder and more diligently to achieve this goal.
Please help your child by reading to and with him/her. Ask questions about what they are reading. Play word games and math games.
